CAIRO -- Egyptians are increasingly worried by a spate of police killings and brutality against citizens. Three separate incidents in recent weeks have highlighted the need for the government to investigate the use of force by security forces, human rights groups argue.
Palestinian Prisoner Release to Make Little Impact

AMMAN – An Israeli plan to release a batch of Palestinian prisoners as a "goodwill gesture" and "confidence-building measure" to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, does not signal the end of detention of thousands of other prisoners, but it could bring the outgoing Israeli government closer to securing the release of an Israeli soldier held by Hamas.

Mumbai, Indias financial capital is now only barely waking up from its worst nightmare. Last week in simultaneous attacks, Islamist terrorists killed at least 195 people and injured another 300 during a 60-hour killing spree. The tactics used by the terrorists were different from the classical jihadist playbook. Does it mean that Mumbai-style attacks are the new jihadist modus operandi?

Al-Ahram (EGYPT): Rafah Crossing Open for Second Day for Gaza Pilgrims – Egypt yesterday opened the Rafah crossing for the second straight day to allow Palestinian pilgrims to go to Saudi Arabia through Egypt, but internal Palestinian differences continue to prevent the pilgrims from crossing.
