COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, March 5 (UPI) -- Sri Lankan defense officials say two Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam terrorists have been arrested in a South Indian boatyard.

The arrests of the two men identified as Premraj and Diesel Kumar was made by the Tamil Nadu Police working from intelligence. Officials say Premraj is a close relative of Soosai, the head the LTTE Sea Tigers, the marine wing of the terrorist organization, the Sri Lanka Ministry of Defense reported.

Premraj and Kumar were allegedly building a more than $1 million boat through the Kerala boatyard expected to be used for gun and drug running across the narrow Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka.

"The 70 feet long boat was almost finished by the boatyard when the Indian authorities took it into their custody … (after) arousing suspicions among Indian intelligence," the release said.
