UPDATED: At least four people were killed and 44 were wounded – one seriously, one moderately and 42 lightly – shortly after noon Wednesday when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem went on a rampage and deliberately ploughed a bulldozer into as many vehicles as he could in the center of Jerusalem.

The driver rammed his vehicle into two public buses, toppling them over, and slammed into several cars. A soldier on leave took the gun from an elite policeman at the scene and shot the man dead.

"We have four people dead so far, including the driver of the earthmover, and 45 wounded, three of them seriously," said an emergency services spokesperson.
