A collection of funny events in Egypt.
Hell hath no fury...
After discovering that her husband planned to get a second wife, a 35-year-old mother of three let her rage determine her plan of action, which was actually quite simple, if not exactly productive. The woman waited until her children left for school, then destroyed everything of value in the house, packed her suitcase, set the house on fire and left. (Nahdet Misr)
...Like a woman cheated
It appears that women now go bezerk at the mention of any sort of cheating. For their wedding anniversary a young couple decided to celebrate at home with a card game marathon. After winning four times in a row, the wife realized that her husband was now trying to cheat his way into winning the fifth round. Spontaneously, it seems, she grabbed a heavy vase and hurled it at him, causing a 12-centimeter wound that needed immediate surgery! She then started crying and apologizing and rushed him off to hospital. (Nahdet Misr)
The poor millionaires
Two young Egyptian woman have been living in poverty for quite some time, despite being entitled to a multimillion dollar inheritance in Brazil. The two sisters, who have lived in Brazil for over a decade, had come with their father to visit Egypt. However, as fortune would have it, their father died during the visit and the daughters did not have the money to return to Brazil. The women cannot get hold of their inheritance until they pay a Brazilian lawyer a down-payment of $1500, a mere fraction of their actual wealth, but one that they just don't have. Love's the cure
A young woman who had been on the run from the police for two years for theft of 20,000 Egyptian pounds ($3,200) from a company she had formerly worked for, willingly gave herself up after falling in love with her cousin, who proposed to her. Saying she wanted a clean start, the girl explained that love had changed her, adding that her cousin had promised to wait for her two-year sentence to end so they could get married. Happily ever after
A fairy tale of a story took place when a lovely 13-year-old girl attending a wedding with her family was kidnapped by a mean old woman. The girl had apparently been drugged and when she woke up in a taxi-cab with this woman she started screaming, at which point the kidnapper panicked and decided to throw her out of the car. She was subsequently found by a kind man, the father of three girls, who took her home to live with his family. Being in complete shock, however, the young girl had lost her ability to speak, and only regained it after three weeks of kind treatment and encouragement, At that point, she was able to give the man her phone number, and she was returned to her family who had all but lost hope of finding their daughter.
