A chilling security breach has resulted in a warning from the British embassy in Iraq against using the road to the Baghdad airport or taking a flight out of Iraq.
The Al Ayyam (Independent) newspaper reported on Tuesday that the embassy said a bomb, discovered on a flight inside Iraq on November 22, indicates insurgents have been able to penetrate the stringent security at the Baghdad airport.
The embassy has advised its staff against taking commercial planes out of Iraq.
"With effect from November 28, the British embassy ceased all movements on the Baghdad International airport road," the embassy advised.
Danger levels in Baghdad have increased as some of the insurgents previously in Fallujah have taken refuge in Baghdad, Al Ayyam said.
